About Rayburn

Rayburn Park lies on the north shore of Sam Rayburn Reservoir, a popular family destination with boating and fishing and access to hunting less than a mile away. Sam Rayburn Reservoir and the surrounding Angelina National Forest provide a wintering habitat for the bald eagle. During the winter months, forest visitors may see the bald eagle soaring over the lake, perched on a flooded snag or in a tall pine along the shoreline.

What Guests Are Saying

Rayburn Park is highly praised for its beautiful waterfront views, well-maintained facilities, and spacious concrete RV pads with covered picnic areas. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the park, including restrooms, and commend the friendly and helpful staff. While some noted minor issues like biting flies and occasional power outages, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Beautiful park that’s well maintained, clean, peaceful and safe. Sites are mostly level. 50amp spaces are limited but we had no issues with our 50amp rig on 30amp space.
Beautiful view of the lake. Park is located on a point and it does get windy at times. Cat fishing from the rocks was great while we were here.
We were staying two weeks and were not able to reserve one space for the entire stay. So moving our RV in between weeks was necessary. Teresa was more than helpful making it possible that we had access to best available site in between moves.
With AT&T hotspot on our phones we streamed movies on our TV for a few days and didn’t bother setting up our satellite dish.
Wife says bathrooms are well kept! That’s high merits coming from my wife.

We will be back.

Everything was great until Sunday ( check out day)! I had received permission from the Corps of Engineers ( the ONLY phone number listed on reservation) to check out at 4pm instead of 2pm. But.....on Sunday I was rudely called by Teresa telling me that checkout was at 2pm and nobody had the authority to authorize a late checkout! I was forced to leave the official weigh in for the tournament I was participating in and rush back , in questionable weather. This situation caused me to break a 1200$ piece of equipment on my boat d/t fear of her threats and unprofessionalism by forcing me to cross the lake in unsafe conditions and miss out on a opportunity ti be drawn for up to 15,000$ in prize money. As an active duty military member I’m extremely disappointed with the treatment I received. I hope this never happens to anyone again.

Respectfully,
JA

The attendants were very friendly and kept the park exceptionally clean. The only complaint I have is that you need more 50 amp services. Turn the 30 amp into 50 amp. Cannot run microwave and water heater without tripping breaker. The bad part is we gotta wait 30 minutes fir duh network to start back up. I will be returning only if I can get a 50 amp spot.
