What Guests Are Saying
Sandy Creek Park is praised for its peaceful atmosphere, cleanliness, and well-maintained grounds, making it a favorite among campers. Guests appreciate the spacious, level sites, helpful staff, and beautiful views of the lake. However, there are concerns about the outdated restrooms and difficulties with the dump station, which could use some improvement.

Campground was clean and well taken care of. Hosts drove around but not very interactive or friendly. We would definitely stay here again. Loved the hiking trails

Campground it great. Only negative is the roads to access campground from 190. These are county roads and are in need of repair.

Although the campsite was adequate, the showers and bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation. The one closest to our site (#10) was locked, requiring us to go to the one about 1/2 mile down the camp by car. That bathroom was literally falling apart! I had a similar experience at the other campground at the lake the previous year. The Corps needs to do some serious rehab on their bathroom/shower facilities at Steinhagen Lake!

We had site 77 in the middle of the turn around. Showers at the group of campsite had the best bath house. Nice hot water. The shower & toilet are together so you have one to yourself. Our camp host brought us a bunch of wood for our campfire. The only downfall was that the dump station is a very long distance to the dump station. So it would take a long time to take a portable tank to the area to dump it. We stayed 7 nights and saved our tanks by using the showers and toilets which were super close to all sites in this area of campsites. Their are 3 different campgrounds within the park
