The site was mostly level, good water pressure and the couple at check in were very nice. The grass was pretty grown up all around the campground, and ours actually had "goathead" stickers right where we would walk, sit and around the firepit, but I pulled what I could so that we didn't get them in the dogs paws. They did come around to spray for weeds, but it would have been nice if it had been mowed before hand. We were there right at a holiday, so that might have been the issue. Overall, we plan on going back again.

We enjoyed our stay and the sunsets. When booking online I went by descriptions and pictures. We rented E111. It said full shade and it was full sun. The 3 shade trees had been cut down.

We have always enjoyed our stays at Buckhorn campground but this last visit we found our campsite and the entire area was overgrown with tall grass and weeds. The area had not been mowed in some time and was not maintained at the high standards we have know for Corps of Engineer Campgrounds. The grounds were finally mowed on our last day but it was very spotty and many areas were skipped completely. We were saddened to see the deterioration of the campground and hope they get it resolved for our next visit.

We’ve stayed at this campground before and enjoyed our stay. However, it has been neglected this year. It had been mowed prior to our arrival, but no one has used a weedeater on this property in quite some time.

Mowing in this park was terrible. Although the Park Rangers came the second day and started mowing, Stacy was great and mow were we had a large coming in which help a lot. She did a great job.
Thanks so Much

If you plan on visiting, bring your weed-eater and lawn mower. The grass was high and unkept.
