We love Johnson Creek! Had a fantastic time and bathrooms were clean.
Never had this happen before but this time the people camping next at the spot we were at showed up around 1045 am, check out is at 200 and check in is at 300 pm. I was a little upset because they parked next to us and watched us pack our stuff up. I was uncomfortable.

Grass had not been mowed around campsites but we understand we had lots of rain.

Everything was fine except for the water heater not working in area 1 . We drove to shower in area 2. Staff was friendly and efficient. Water heater was replaced the morning we left. Happy for those there on Labor Day to have warm showers.

We really enjoyed our stay at Johnson Creek. We chose this location because of the proximity to the beach and the children's playground. Our grandchildren loved staying there. The park is very clean as were the restrooms and showers. Plan on many more visits.

Trees need trimmed along roads and by dump station. 5th wheel trailers hit the low hanging times causing damage. Fire pits not being cleaned between guest anymore. Grass is not being mowed. Weird guys renting spots for RV's in vans that are not campers making everyone nervous that they could be looking to pick up kids or women in all the trafficking going on these days. Gates open during the day and nobody in the building to control who is coming or going. This is no longer the campground we are used to. I no longer feel safe here.

While you are at Johnson Creek take in the famous cornbread sandwich shop in downtown Jefferson, Texas. And maybe get a notorious Bubba burger from Fuglars Grocery Store over on Hwy154, about 13 minutes west of Marshall.

Overall we had a good time. Park needs to be mowed. All the sites had the grass grown up. Fire ring at our site was old and not maintained.
