What Guests Are Saying
Plowman Creek is highly praised for its excellent condition, peaceful atmosphere, and friendly camp hosts. Campers appreciate the spacious, well-maintained sites with easy access to water and electricity, along with beautiful scenery and clean facilities. While some noted minor issues with restrooms and inconsiderate fellow campers, the overall experience is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

This campground is quieter, in better condition and cleaner than most of the other CoE campgrounds on Lake Whitney. The sites are mostly further apart as well, which makes it quiet and private. The equestrian trail is great for hiking/biking with an interesting section along an old abandoned section of railroad. Lakeside Village and Kopperl are close by for gas or forgotten items. Cleburne is about 25 miles with multiple RV outlets for any repairs or replacement parts if needed. I would have rated 5 star but the road to the dump station is very rough and rocky, and we couldn't get a campground map because the entrance station was closed and the hosts never even came around to insure that we were staying in a site that we paid for.

We liked the location and price. Water & electric service were fine. Shower facilities need update and attention.

Plowman Creek is a gorgeous campground. Even in winter. River access is excellent from nearly all sites (we kayak), they slope gently, and they’re perfectly positioned for beautiful sunrises across the water! The bathrooms are a bit of a walk (but we didn’t care…just info). Some sites have easy level parking (we have a Roof Top Tent) and some don’t. Finding a level spot for a tent can be tricky.
