What Guests Are Saying
Sanders Cove is a beautiful and clean campground with spacious sites, lovely views, and friendly hosts, making it a favorite for many campers. While the campground offers a peaceful atmosphere and good amenities, some facilities, particularly the bathrooms and showers, require significant updates and maintenance. The roads leading to the park are in poor condition, but the overall experience is enjoyable, with plenty of outdoor activities available nearby.

Even with a tornado passing within .25 mile from camp we had a blast. The Corp was immediately on the job cleaning up. Such a professional bunch.

Everything was nice. We really like Sanders Cove Loop B. Employees are nice also.

Beautiful park, friendly, helpful volunteers. Reservations will help get the spot you want. We were able to spend one night w/o reservations. Sites in Loop B were a little tight for our 35 foot trailer because of all the trees, but they were what made the park what it is. When this park was built, campers were a lot smaller.
Would recommend this park and hope to visit it again.

Would of been excellent if not for the wind

Would have rated it excellent if not for the strong west wind blowing off the open water in this site

Cordial staff and nice camp sites. Restrooms desperately need updating. Addition of site sewer connections would be a big plus.

Great trails to explore and beautiful views. Bathrooms need updated but were clean. Showers were dark on the women's side. B is in the shade most of the day so great in the summer.

My low rating is for the specific site that I reserved, A1. In the description of the campsite, the campground map, and the one single picture, there was nothing that indicated the campsite was next to the dock and boat ramp. Worse, was the fact that the parking lot to the boat ramp was directly adjacent and overlooking our entire campsite so when vehicles parked they were right next to us and put us in a very dangerous position with our site directly at the bottom of a small decent. There was no where except the parking lot for our vehicle, which made it difficult since I use a rooftop tent. The registration site did not say anything about it being a walk-in site. I assume the dock and boat launch were built after this site was established; this specific campsite should be removed as it is directly below the parking lot which is dangerous, but also very annoying as many of the late boaters return to their vehicles have absolutely no regard for the noise they create or the light pollution from their vehicles. There are only three primitive/non-electric campsites at this specific A location, and I wouldn’t return to camp at any of them even though they were right next to the water.
Aside from that, we enjoyed the waterfront and the wooded area. The toilets are vault toilets and while I don’t expect much from vault toilets these were strangely the second nastiest toilets I’ve seen this year (Palo Duro portajons being 1st place by a few thousand black flies) I’ll blame the fishing competition they had the day I arrived as possibly being the reason the toilets were so gross. This seems like a great spot for boaters and fisherman, but that pretty much ruins the camping experience for anyone just hoping to enjoy nature and not hear boats blaring 90’s pop and/or country from their boat speakers.

Hosts were friendly, helpful and accommodating. (They assigned us a slot with a great view of the lake!) Campground was clean and well kept.
