Great COE park, really not a bad site in the park. Water and electric but no sewer hook-ups, although there is a dump station. You may want to use your "blue boy" if you stay for an extended period but the dump station, while nice, is a challenge for dumping a "blue boy." Lots of deer and birds, nice lake for fishing or boating. Firepit, grill, and covered picnic table at each site. Two issues to be aware of, first the condition of Overflow Road leading into the park from TX-6 is horrible so slow going entering or exiting the park is a must. Second, the bathrooms were fine but only one of six shower rooms was operational and that shower room had no lock for the door. If there were sewer dumps at each site this would not be an issue, but when you are trying to limit the contents of your camper black/grey tanks the shower issue is problematic, not to mention privacy and personal safety. Overall, great park. Will return.

The Corps. Of Engineers at this park on Lake Waco need to add covered table covers on the 4 or 5 sites that have NO covered tables. They also need to repaint the 4 posts at most all of the tables. They are rusted. Can't understand why this park closes each year at the end of Oct. for 4 months and zero needed improvements are not done. There are 2 large piles of trees that have been in the same place for over 3 years. They went up this year on the camping fees but no improvements were made. Love coming to this park but think it is getting overlooked by the Corps. Of Engineers here and the Lake Manager. The revenue that this particular park generates in the 8 months its opened would certainly justify putting some improvements and table covers be added to the ones that don't have any. Just a concerned taxpayer. Thanks for your time.
P.S...I worked in the summer months for the Corps. Of Engineers years ago under Lake Manager William Fountain while going to school.

Campsite was good, with lake nearby. Bathrooms/showers were dirty and we did not use because they were so bad.

Speegleville Park is a small gem glistening on Lake Waco. It is well maintained. Each campsite is spacious. We visited in early spring while wildflower were abundant in the small meadow and ducks swam in the lake in front of the door of our fifth-wheel.

Facilities in need of urgent repair. Screens damaged and missing on shelters. Doors rusted and damaged. Ceiling fan inoperable. Indoor picnic table damaged and warped. Dim lighting. Trash left behind in shelter. Restroom facilities filthy and showers inoperable. Only one working shower in the entire campground and the first night it only had cold water. One shower room door completely missing. Damaged faucets. Hand dryers and soap dispensers inoperable.

Park is great with lots of trees and deer with nice swimming areas. Sites are well maintained. We would like to see park stay open year round or at least thru November....Central Texas has nice fall weather and we would like to camp in the fall.

From I-35, take exit 330B Hwy 6 N toward Meridian for about 6 miles. After passing over the Lake on the Twin Bridges, take the first exit toward Lake Waco/Speegleville Park. Take a left on the access road. You will continue past the Twin Bridges Park about a quarter of a mile until you reach Overflow Road. Turn right on Overflow Road and drive for about 1.5 miles until you reach the entrance on the left.
