What Guests Are Saying
Pine Valley Recreation Area is praised as a hidden gem in southern Utah, known for its immaculate and well-maintained campgrounds, friendly camp hosts, and beautiful surroundings. Visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities, including pit toilets, and the availability of shaded picnic areas. Though there was a temporary issue with potable water, most campers had a wonderful experience and plan to return.

Brooke was subbing as host in Crackfoot while we were there. She is the greatest! The sites were kept clean and the restrooms we're kept spotless. She always stopped in to make sure we didn't need anything. She checked and cleaned fire pits before they were full. I wish she would take Crackfoot on a permanent basis.
Thanks Brooke! Hope to see you in the fall!

Space reserved was marked and available upon arrival. Camp Host stopped to visit and ask if we needed firewood. People fishing appeared to be catching fish. We enjoy hiking, biking, and just laying back to enjoy some cooler outdoor time away from city life.
The range cattle probably help with fire control but their dung messes up the campground area and the creekside hiking trails. With cattle roaming we saw a lot less deer.

The Dean Gardner campground loop online map didn’t match the layout of the campsites on that loop when we arrived. We booked this trip about 2 weeks prior to the camping weekend. The spot we got was nicer than the one we actually reserved. We originally reserved a spot on the inside of the south end of the loop, but ended up with a spot a little more spread out on the outside of the south end of the loop across from the spot we reserved. It doesn’t look like the map has been fixed, we reserved D10 and the online map shows what we got as being D11. This was our second trip to Pine Valley and our first time on the Dean Gardner loop. It’s a very nice campground and we’ll definitely stay at Pine Valley again.
