The campsites are nicely spread out. We brought a kayak. It was .7 mile by road to the marina that opened out to the “big” water with the power boats. Much closer, with just a bit of “bushwacking” was Sunny Cove, which is much quieter and leads to several interesting coves to explore.

Campsite #41 is the perfect spot to have, it allows you to go down to the lake and enjoy the whole experience.

Beautiful campground on a ridge above the lake. We were within walking distance to swimming and other lake activities. Good shade at the sites. Site fairly well distanced from each other. The night sky was awesome! Only drawback was the vault toilets. Although stocked well they needed more frequent cleaning.

Up until this trip I have always been extremely happy with this campground and its facilities. I have been coming on yearly fishing trips for over 30 years to Flaming Gorge and this has been the campground of choice.
However, this time we had a less then satisfactory trip, due to the hosts and new (not well planned) polices implemented by whomever is being paid to manage.
1- There was no one at the shack to talk with and get information/details from when we arrived and trying to locate someone to buy firewood from was a 20 minute task, that after trying without luck, we ended up going into town.
2- They have the only showers and flush-able toilets open during times of little use between 10-8 and were very strict about holding to those times. Most people use the facilities in the morning before going to the lake or river between 6-9 and after they come off the river or lake (and have completed dinner) between 5-11, so this new time and policy was less then agreeable and made a lot of my follow campers complain and not want to return to this campground. During all of our visits prior, we have only had to deal with 1 hour cleaning times and those bathrooms where opened almost 24 hours a day.

We camped twice at Mustang Ridge in the last month and have been happy with all the campgrounds we have been in. We booked last minute for both trips so we had several sites. The camphost's were friendly and helpful and all sites were clean and had good layouts. We'll definitely be back.

We stayed in the group site and LOVED it! It had a gorgeous view, it’s close to the water, plenty of shade, and several great places for tents.

The campsite was great. Overlooked the lake and was spacious. Maybe a little difficult for some to climb down to the water....great overall

The only issue was site size, but that is not fixable and the golf cart that comes around and wakes you up

The campground is nice, a little tuff to get bigger campers in some of the spots. The only real negative is the noise from the campground hosts cleaning peoples cart when you are trying to sleep in but they do keep the grounds clean.
