Our group had sites 24 and 25 at the Needles campground Loop B. The location is one-of-a-kind, but the management / maintenance is poor. The odor from the septic system was annoying at best, and overwhelming at times. The septic system needs maintenance, repair and/or replacement. The smell of sewage was near constant when the wind was blowing (most of our 5-day stay), and was just awful. The campground host said we were not the first to complain about the smell of sewage in the vicinity of the septic system, but he's "just a volunteer." The NPS needs to do something about the odors from the septic system near sites 24-25 in Loop B !!!!!! Until this gets fixed, visitors might be wise to try for other sites.

We were fortunate to hear three evening Ranger programs and found them interesting and engaging. I was particularly struck by the last one we attended about the Value of our National Parks. Very thought provoking. The campground, facilities and park were wonderful and we were very pleased.
