What Guests Are Saying
Buckboard campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting, surrounded by aspens and wildlife, making it a great escape from the heat. The sites are spacious, well-maintained, and provide excellent access to nearby trails and Canyonlands National Park. While there are limited restroom facilities and cold temperatures at night, the overall experience is enhanced by clean amenities and a friendly atmosphere, making it highly recommended for future visits.

Wonderful campground! Huge sites. Gravel road. Lots of downed trees and cut up wood.

This campground is high in elevation and can get very cold. Be prepared. Bring your own water.

This is a great tent site! We had four deer visit our site when we arrived. We had plenty of privacy from both adjacent sites. Hosts drove through in the morning and were very friendly. Bathrooms were spotless! Be careful of cattle in the road driving up the mountain.

We held our wedding in the clearing and it was the most beautiful setting that a girl could ever ask for!

Great spot in the desert for a colder night and shadow. We enjoyed our night a lot.

We love it here. Nice and peaceful and the weather is very cool. Great place for getting out of the heat.
Love seeing the deer so close and right in your campsite.
Great place and we will continue to stay here in the future.

The campsite is better than what the pictures show. I was worried it would be narrow but there’s lots of space. There are only food storage lockers in the group campsite so you’ll have to consider taking your own bear proof storage or leave food in the car. We didn’t encounter any bears luckily, but we did see lots of deer around our site at night. The vault toilets were surprisingly the cleanest and best smelling I’ve experienced. Bring your own TP as they don’t refill it often throughout the day. It was easy to locate and you’re surrounded by so many trees. I loved hearing the wind approaching because the trees will rustle. We had our privacy, but also encountered lots of friendly people here. I’m honestly so surprised at how well kept the campground is.
