What Guests Are Saying
The campground at Spruces in Big Cottonwood Canyon offers beautiful scenery, friendly staff, and well-maintained sites, making it a popular choice for campers. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, great hiking options, and clean facilities, despite some complaints about the restroom situation and water availability. While there have been issues with locked bathrooms and high traffic on weekends, overall experiences highlight the campground's charm and natural beauty.

I really love camping at the Spruces , but unfortunately for the last two year the campground seems to need an upgrade in the roads and the campsites , I know last year snow pack did damaged some of it but it’s time to get it fixed, anyway it’s a great place to enjoy the mountains, the holsters are always great

Love this campsite. it has a picnic area near the creek which is secluded so gives you the privacy you need as well.

Site 13. Nice! Morning and afternoon shade thanks to the tall trees with mid-day sun. Easy backing in a 25ft TT and room for the tow vehicle. 4 inches of blocks to get level. Near restrooms. a tiny creek is a short walk, sounds of the river once traffic dies down at night. 3 moose walked through as we enjoyed morning coffee. Adding this to our list of favorites!

Be aware that water is turned off to bathroom sinks. Bring your own hand sanitizer! Also, the bathrooms were never attended to the two nights, three days that we were there. This site was close to neighbors on either side.

The group site was in rough shape. Uneven tables and benches were difficult to sit at. For the cost to reserve this site was not worth the price we paid. We will not be using this anytime soon. Repairs need to be updated.

The pothole at the front gate needs to be filled! And it would be nice to have the toilets working in the upper loop bathrooms repaired after 3 years!

Close to the camp host and best of all, next to a stream for icy cold mountain water.
