What Guests Are Saying
Diamond Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with clean facilities and friendly camp hosts who are accommodating and helpful. Many visitors enjoy the spaciousness between sites and the proximity to nature, including rivers and wildlife, making it a great spot for families and outdoor activities. However, some guests reported issues with flies, wasps, and aggressive cows, along with misleading descriptions of tent camping areas, which detracted from their overall experience.

Due to unforeseen medical issues, I canceled this reservation online, through my app, but Recreation.gov did not refund my money. Unfortunate for my wallet AND for someone else who could have benefited by using the campsite for the very busy Labor Day weekend.

Such a fun place to camp! We enjoy riding our bikes through the campground and playing in the river! The cows coming through the campsites and mooing in the early morning was the only downside! We will continue to camp here!

Was really pretty!!! Amazing sunset. We were not in a private spot. Overall was great and loved having a pavilion!

Our campsite was full of cow pies, and just plain dirty. Wasn’t cheap so kind of annoyed

The site was nice as usual but the camp host was selected on who he enforced the rules on. There was a large group that was loud until 1 or 2am and they had no respect for your site as they just used it as a pass through. There were people that had animals that invaded your camp and their dogs were in friendly and other campers shooting BB guns. All and all it was not as nice of a time as other years. We will be looking for a different place to camp in the future.

Love this spot because of the river, large parking lot and pavilion and clean bathrooms

Our campsite was great, space 15, single occupancy in Loop A. It was long for our motorhome 27ft and tow vehicle we had had to unhook since all the spaces were back in. There was great tree coverage providing privacy (on one side) and shade. The firepit and table were located at the end of the space, which was great. The best part was the creek that ran behind the campground - is was really shallow and we actually put camp chairs near the edge so we could put our feet in the cool running water. Our GPS did take us past the turn in for the campsite and up the the Group Sites - note the campground is really only about 5 miles from the highway.

Diamond Campground is in a beautiful canyon, about 10mi off the main highway (Hwy 6), making it nice and quiet. There is a stream next to the campground, and the sound of it at night is very calming. Some sites have more tree cover, others are very exposed, so choose wisely based on if you want privacy and shade, or a wide open sunset and starry night view.
Downsides: the bathrooms weren’t exceptionally clean. There was some ATV noise from people riding to and from their campsites, and occasionally riding around the campground. It didn’t last long and was not a problem after sunset. The campsite was pretty darn quiet at night. This campground is in a free range area, meaning the cattle will just walk right through the campground, and poop along their way. They were fun to see! But watch where where you step (or put your tent).

There was not enough shade, both of our spots were directly in the sun ☀️ all day, & it made it very miserable. The websites showed shade, but it lied.
