About Big Creek (gifford Pinchot National Forest, Wa)

Situated in the vicinity of majestic Mount Rainier, Big Creek is a family campground nestled among Douglas firs, hemlock, alders and maples. The lush vegetation offers plenty of privacy between sites. The sites at Big Creek form a loop, with only a handful of sites sitting along the banks of Big Creek. Open from mid-May through late September, Big Creek provides an alternative to the campgrounds at Mount Rainier National Park, which can get very crowded during the summer.

Overall this is nice little campground but it can be quite noisy at times. A lot of the sites have decent privacy but the sites are still close enough together that you will be hearing everything in the adjacent sites, especially during busy holiday weekends.

We loved our stay at Big Creek Campground and are devastated to see all of the reserve-able sites booked throughout the rest of the summer already!

Beautiful location. Spot 2 had a nice little walkway to the creek. Pit toilets were VERY clean. Big creek is just a couple of minutes from Mt rainier entrance. Would definitely come back. I stayed at site 2 and enjoyed it. Site 3 looked very private a cost.

This is one of the best campgrounds I've ever stayed at. It is clean and well maintained. The camp host is very helpful and eager to assist in making one's stay an enjoyable experience. Rather than go over everything I liked about the campground, suffice it to say that I would recommend it to anyone and I will plan on going back again and again.

Family friendly. Camp spots are close together, but seems like a good clean and well managed campground.

Campers next to us played very loud music. It was 5:30 pm. After 1 hour of listening to it. I walked to the campground host’s trailer. He saw me walking up and cheerfully asked how he could help me. I asked if there was a noise curfew. He said quiet time starts at 10 pm. Then he asked if there was a problem. I told him about the loud music. He said that was not ok at any time of day. He immediately went to the campsite and asked the campers to turn music down or off. We had no more problems.

Very well isolated campgrounds, with a real feel of privacy. Potable water available and pit toilets were kept very clean. Some of the campgrounds might be unsuitable for an RV trailer.

It was a very beautiful camp ground. The sites are spread apart and private. Very clean and quiet. One of the restrooms
Some one left the door open and flies got in. Other than that it was a great campground.
