What Guests Are Saying
Charbonneau Park and Campground is praised for its beautiful, well-maintained grounds, spacious sites, and friendly staff, making it a popular spot for relaxation and outdoor activities, particularly near the river. Many reviews highlight the park's cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere, with some recommending it for RV camping due to limited water hookups. While there are some concerns about understaffing and the need for restroom upgrades, overall, visitors express a strong desire to return and enjoy the park's scenic views and community feel.

Beautiful campground and sites. Rules seem extreme regarding where dogs are allowed and not allowed even on leash.
Earwigs are crazy, didnβt see any our whole stay until packing up and there were hundreds under every jack pad and anything left on the ground for a while so make sure to bang off your stuff before loading. Didnβt affect our stay at all just a heads up.
Overall nice stay and great cell service with Verizon.

This is a beautiful campground with large sites and some have great views of the river. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautifully maintained park. Restrooms were always clean and smelled fresh. We even watched campground hosts clean out fire pits and scrub picnic tables after a camper checked out. Nice large shade trees. Just be aware freight trains run near by so you will experience the sound of a mile long train as it passes through.

We have camped here often over the last 10yrs & always enjoy ourselves!! There is great fishing/boating (unfortunately tons of perch but this does mean that the Littles are likely to catch something). The carp are also fun to catch! There is also a small store at the boat launch that sells bait, tackle, toys, sunscreen, ice cream, firewood, bags of ice, s'mores fixins, and more. There are also a couple of gas stations not far from the campground. One has a Firehouse Subs and the other a pizza joint. The campsites are good sized and several have electricity, water and grey/black water hook ups. Most sites have at least some shady spots; all have picnic tables and fire pits. Ice Harbor Dam is nearby and has a family friendly & fun scavenger hunt, viewable fish ladder (we saw Chinook, Lamprey, SM Bass and Walleye) and a kids entertainment area. I do hope the campground considers a second restroom facility close to the host's site-OR-save the spots closer to the restroom for those who's equipment doesn't have a restroom & handicapped campers (I witnessed numerous campers piling in their vehicle and driving to the restroom). I appreciate the wasp traps placed throughout and only ever saw one wasp during our 4 days. The hosts were very friendly, accommodating and caring. I was not back at my site by 10pm and they noted I was alone so they drove around looking for me and called me. I was drooling over the houseboats but appreciated their concern!

Nice park. The sites are larger than most parks. Nice water view sites available along the perimeter. Site 46 has direct sun all day, sites 45 on down have some shade and trees which is nice. There are goat heads and thorns in the grass which made it terrible for dogs. We didn't use our bikes out of concern they would pop our tires. The trails down to the water were overgrown at this time, May 10th, so don't know if they will get maintained at a later date. The shoreline was a bit disappointing by not being able to walk down to the water. We only found a couple trails that went to the shoreline, and they were unpassable due to tall overgrowth. It would be nice if there were garbage cans scattered throughout the park for easy access, rather than larger dumpsters near the check in cabin. When the park says "check in at 2 ", they mean "check in at 2". There was no checking in early even when the sites were empty. The restrooms were clean and maintained. Ice Harbor Dam is located 5 miles away. It was a nice side trip. We drove 6 hours to come to this park. Although the view from the campsite of the marina and the dam in the distance were great, I'm not convinced that I would make another trip back here, just because there wasn't a lot to do since we couldn't ride our bikes and couldn't access the shoreline, and didn't find any hiking trails around.

As always the view is amazing. Since it was the first of the season the grounds needed a bit of grooming but overall had a wonderful stay
