What Guests Are Saying
Charbonneau Park and Campground is praised for its beautiful, well-maintained grounds, spacious sites, and friendly staff, making it a popular spot for relaxation and outdoor activities, particularly near the river. Many reviews highlight the park's cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere, with some recommending it for RV camping due to limited water hookups. While there are some concerns about understaffing and the need for restroom upgrades, overall, visitors express a strong desire to return and enjoy the park's scenic views and community feel.

We had a great water front site and it was so wonderful to sit outside our fifth wheel and watch the boats go by. It was so peaceful with the breeze blowing that we were able to nap outside. No complaints about anything. The dump station was very convenient as we only had power at the site.

We have been campground attendants at this park. Our only negative is an important one...
The puncture vine (tack weed) has grown way out of control in major areas of the grass. It limits use of most of the south end sites and pavement borders because it is so pervasive to the point of being dangerous to animals, children and even adults.
Please remedy the puncture vine invasion to this otherwise beautiful and historic campground.

The camp hosts were very rude and abrasive. I think this was the worst place we stayed on our trip. The campsite itself is nice but the explanations on the back of the map does not jive with what we were told. Also the dump is not on the map.
This place is set up for big rigs who travel the country. We live in WA and did not feel welcome.

Looks inviting for tent camping, but powerful sprinklers turn on in evening and go until middle of night (starting around 10pm in some passers of camp area and going until around 4am, our site was hit around 3am. Fortunately the camp hosts warned us shortly after we arrived so we were ready to defeat the sprinklers with camp chairs and other items. There is a train line about 300 yards from the campsite compared to other places I’ve stayed this train was relatively quiet; only counted 2 trains during night. It was clear during day and sunset over river was lovely, but high winds throughout night across the flat geography of the region.
