About Hawk Creek Campground

Hawk Creek Campground is tucked back from the lake on Hawk Creek. The campground is popular, but small enough to feel private and secluded. A small waterfall adds ambiance to this beautiful and unique campground. Hawk Creek is close to Fort Spokane Visitor Center, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle. A courtesy dock provides access to Lake Roosevelt.

What Guests Are Saying

Hawk Creek Campground offers a picturesque setting with beautiful waterfalls, ample shade, and opportunities for kayaking and fishing, making it a great destination for nature lovers. However, some visitors experienced issues with noise from partying crowds, narrow access roads, and sanitation concerns, particularly with the restrooms. Be aware there is no camp host on site. People left food out all night. Generators ran all night and people were loud way after 10. Not a good experience and we camp all the time. We had never been to Hawk Creek which is in a beautiful area. Great kayaking. But will probably not go back to camp there.

We have been camping at Hawk Creek for many years. One of our favorite places. Sadly, now there are lots of big rigs that can barely fit into their space, running generators constantly. We have a small 18 foot trailer, and use solar to charge our batteries. Won’t go back.

The view was great, the campsites (3 and 10) were not. 3 was supposed to accommodate up to 10 people and 2 vehicles and BARELY did so. Two tents, both were nearly on the pavement, the site simply too small. Site 10 was better in many ways, but we had to play hell to get our reserved site as the guests in it dragged their feet checking out even though they only moved 2 sites away, while we were made to leave site 3 almost immediately by noon. Park rangers did nothing. All in all the natural experience was fine, but I don't think I'll be going back. It was far better in years past.
