About Hawk Creek Campground

Hawk Creek Campground is tucked back from the lake on Hawk Creek. The campground is popular, but small enough to feel private and secluded. A small waterfall adds ambiance to this beautiful and unique campground. Hawk Creek is close to Fort Spokane Visitor Center, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle. Hawk Creek Campground offers a picturesque setting with beautiful waterfalls, ample shade, and opportunities for kayaking and fishing, making it a great destination for nature lovers. Very cool spot! Waterfall was very refreshing and the lake was warm! Beautiful paddle out to a private beach.
The water level at this time of year was low. The sock was dry and there was thick mud you had get through to reach the water. There was a boat launch very close to the camp to use as well

This is a small, one loop, rustic campground tucked into a deep erosional ravine within the eastern Washington scablands. The groundwater gushing from a wall of columnar basalt creates an oasis of lush vegetation and a small lake that harbors duck and herons. Bring potable water and don’t expect electricity- the beauty and serenity makes roughing it worthwhile.

Lovely setting. Was very quiet. We were in site #19. Only criticism was that the site parking was quite short. We did not want to unhook our 5th wheel because we were only staying one night. When we backed in the nose of our truck came right to the edge of the site. (Our 5th wheel is short at only 26 feet. Anything longer would have been hard to park.)

All in all would stay there again.

Very tight camp sites. But nice neighbors, so not that bad. People need to leave their dogs on a leash. Bring your own toilet paper, it goes fast. The parks people cleaned it every day, that was nice. Waterfall was raging nicely. The road there is almost too small for two vehicles going in opposite direction. I would stay again, it's better than staying home. Great place for kayaks and paddle boards.

It's a beautiful spot to spend the day but if you prefer a remote location without children and non-socialized children, then this is not for you. If you like a safe location for little ones in a chuckwagon style camping, book your spot now!
