We canoed in and it was so picturesque! The campground was clean and quiet. The waterfall amazing and we were visited by geese, ducks and a blue heron on the water. A flock of wild turkeys swooped in at evening and the morning. Deer wandered throughout the campground. Truly a peaceful and beautiful place to camp.

Beautiful campground. Sites are adequate size and provide lots of shade and beauty.
Bathrooms are vault toilets but very clean .
Beautiful waterfall right at campground and lots of cool hiking trails. Kayaking is great here! Highly recommend!

The campground is small and quaint, located along the shore, but without a beach area. The falls are beautiful, and the one main trail accessible even for a couple if senior citizens.
Our main complaint is that the restroom closet to where we camped was thoroughly inundated with flies. It was unusable.

Love hawk creek. I have enjoyed this place even before it was actual campsites . Perfect for being close to the water. My recommendation is if you have bad knees or have a hard time walking on unsteady ground do not pick site 18. Leave it for the younger folks who csn get around easy. That being said . It’s perfect for a young family with kids who need space to run.

This is the third year we’ve camped here in the early season. It’s in a great location and is usually pretty empty. It was busy this time, and was great to see the campground nearly full over the weekend. The downside was that the bathroom nearest the waterfall was packed with flies and none of the dried leaves had been picked up. Campers (including us) were racking and sweeping leaves, especially away from the fire rings, to reduce fire hazard. Hawk Creek is a “pack it in, pack it out” campground so you have to take your trash with you- a fact lost on many who came to the day use area by the waterfall. Disappointing when people don’t pick up after themselves!
