We arrived in the late afternoon and were able to avoid the long lines that were present in the mid- to late-morning to enter HoH. Campsites were outstanding; bathrooms clean. Great place to do day hikes starting at your campsite, then have a bit of lunch and head out of HoH and to one of the nearby beaches or other attractions at Olympic National Park. Yes, there was a bit of mist and rain from time-to-time but it was not a bother at all. The staff were also very helpful and friendly upon our entrance. Because it is a trek into the campground, it's best to get your supplies (especially ice), ahead of time; though there was wood forsale. I did miss the campfire programs, looks like they may be on pause but wonderful location for the outdoor programs with firepit, benches, stage, lights etc.

Restrooms were cleaned daily, water access for filling bottles and cleaning dishwares. There were forty or so campsites in the loop but it never felt too crowded. Every campsite felt nestled into the surrounding area. Firewood available on site to buy for fires.

Missed out on a reservation? No worries! You can simply take over someone else’s spot. Just pick any site, anytime—it’s yours now. It doesn’t matter if it was reserved months ago or if you’d rather camp out in a quiet corner of the parking lot. The best part? There’s no one around to stop you. No hosts, no rangers—no one keeping track. Good luck out there!
