I attended the Ranger’s class about the Rain Forest& later went on the Ranger led hike … both excellent. Even though there were no hookups, the campsite was just what I like. Close walk to Visitor Center.

Hoh Rainforest is spectacular in its raw beauty and has a lovely peacefulness to it. It would be foolish to complain about the rainy conditions in a place appropriately named "the rainforest" but it did come down pretty hard on us both nights in early July, so be forewarned.
We didn't see a camp host and there was not any firewood available either night. If you're hoping for a campfire and you didn't purchase wood prior to the arrival at Hoh, you likely won't find wood at the campsite this summer, so be prepared. Not sure if this is a temporary blip, but it was a little disappointing.
Lastly, this is more of a public service announcement than a negative of the campgrounds - if you are going to set your car alarm and go on an all day hike leaving your car parked at the trailhead and you KNOW your car alarm is hypersensitive, just......don't set it! Some doofus in a white sedan set their alarm and left for the day. Every 15 minutes this thing blared out an ear piercing warning that permeated the entire campgrounds and hiking trails. Nobody is driving all the way to the remote Hoh Rainforest to break into your car. Just lock the doors and go on your hike.

Hoh rainforest is absolutely gorgeous. However, the way Olympic National Forests manages the entrance is absolutely broken. The wait for campers is mixed in with day used entry and the only way they let anyone in is based on day use parking availability, even though there are people with reserved campsites. So broken. We waited for almost two hours to get to our camp site.
