What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

My wife and I enjoyed our three night stay at the Mora campground. We did find that the bath facility in the D loop was in bad shape and poorly maintained. We did find that the C and A/B bath facilities were recently upgraded and the C facility was easy walking distance from the D loop. That was a game changer for us. The other big frustration was the very nearby helicopter logging operation that was going on every day for a significant amount of time each day. But, the sites are very nice (although bring a table covering and seat pads for the concrete tables) and the surroundings are magnificent. Being able to hike the Hoh River trail system and Rialto beach were wonderful opportunities. We would definitely go back.

We're an outdoorsy family, often camping in undeveloped places to get away from crowds. We actually really liked the campground itself even with full capacity. It's beautiful. However, when we booked we weren't alerted that there was a massive restoration project on the river flood plain adjacent to the grounds. From 7am-7pm, double rotor helicopters flew low elevation, constantly delivering logs. It was so close and so loud our dog, who is a gun-trained hunting dog, was in obvious pain. For those with kiddos you can imagine how our 1 y/o reacted without ear-pro. Luckily we had plans to leave and hike elsewhere during the day. But first thing in the morning and getting back to camp in the evening was maddeningly loud. This obviously isn't the campground's fault. Restoration of the area is required and important. but, if we had known this was taking place we simply would have gone elsewhere and certainly wouldn't have paid for it. So, the campground is 5-stars. Our specific experience was 0-stars.

This is one of my favorite Campgrounds on the Olympic Peninsula. You will definitely feel like you are immersed in a forest wilderness environment. I am also pleased with the new system with Recreation.gov as I never have to worry about not getting a campsite, but needless to say that benefit comes at the cost of planning VERY far in advance... especially at popular campgrounds like this one. I do miss the days (before CoVid) when you could just decide to head out to the coast that day and have a good chance of finding a campsite if you got there early, but those days are likely gone.
I will also add, that during this recent trip in late June, the construction and helicopter noise does definitely take away from the experience, but that is only temporary. But bring earplugs, you'll thank me.

This is a good home base for visiting Rialto Beach and other nearby beaches; the location allows for short drives to local sites. The campground facilities were well-maintained and the staff friendly and helpful. Our site had plenty of space for our gear and lots of surrounding greenery to keep it quiet and private. We enjoyed the nature trails that are part of the campground. An added bonus was having a tide schedule posted on the loop message board.

Beautiful setting, a short drive to Rialto beach (you can walk it, but it’s quite the way and no sidewalks or path). No firewood for sale in the campground, stock up before entering.

Mora Campground is great for anyone that wants an easily accessible campground. Sites are large and private enough. Unfortunately, there was no camp host available when we stayed. There was also no soap in the bathrooms, so make sure you pack your own just in case! Overall, I would stay here again
