GeneralMora Road and Rialto Beach ConstructionIn 2019, severe winter flooding along the Quillayute River eroded the riverbank at mile post 1.25 on Mora Road. Temporary riprap was installed as an emergency measure, but a permanent fix is needed to protect long-term access to Rialto Beach. These repairs will fortify the road against continued river migration and flooding events.Between April and July 7, construction work will require a short single‑lane traffic section near milepost 1.25. The Dickey Boat Launch and trailer parking area will be closed for construction staging. No construction will occur during the Fourth of July weekend. From July 8–Oct. 5, construction crews will need to close both lanes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle traffic beyond the Mora Campground. Rialto Beach will not be accessible via Mora Road during this construction period. Mora Campground will remain open.Visitors should consider alternative beaches, such as Ruby Beach, during the construction period. Please visit our Alerts & Conditions and Current Road Conditions pages for updates as construction dates change.

What Guests Are Saying
Mora Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites nestled in a lush coastal forest, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Its proximity to Rialto Beach and various hiking trails enhances the camping experience, making it an ideal base for exploring Olympic National Park. While some facilities, particularly bathrooms, could use more attention, and there are no showers available, the overall charm and natural beauty of the campground make it a favorite for many campers.

Great campsite among giant trees. Cool and foggy but closest campground to Rialto Beach. Excellent evening Ranger talk.

We stayed briefly at Mora (C-52) but had a nice time. The real highlight was Rialto Beach right down the road. We took our 20 ft Class B camper van by the spot to check it out then went right to the beach. We watched the sunset at Rialto Beach, made dinner in the parking lot, then looked at the stars at night. We then drove back to the spot, set up real quick and quiet, went to bed and had a lovely morning in the campground. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a beautiful campground and location. Best for tents and not big rigs. Rialto Beach is a must and Second and Third Beaches are close and easy hikes. About a 1 hour drive will get you to Sol Duc hot springs and the Hoh River and rain forest national park visitor center. Forks offers basics: groceries, drug store, laundry. WiFi available by the library. I enjoyed the Thursday night ranger program.

Mora Campground is possibly the most beautiful campground ever. Generous area in each space and large old trees throughout.

Better communication on when and how additional nights could be obtained in the campground would be helpful.

This a beautiful campground in an old forest. Camp sites are private and vary in size. Most are only large enough for a small RV or a tent. We camped in a 36 foot motor home and were able to find a pull through site that was large enough. The reservation website is excellent at describing the camp sites and what will work. No electrical or water and margin cell phone service. Great hiking all around.

Beautiful campground situated on a bluff just above the beach. Perfect location for exploring the kalaloch beaches (beach 1-4) and their fascinating burl trees and tide pools. Also very close to iconic Ruby Beach and it’s awesome sea stacks. Makes a great entry point to the rest of Olympic National Park as well.
