The lake was great! There is a viewpoint off of highway 12 going West past the campground and it’s a great view of a waterfall.

Nice campground on lake, but Highway 12 and all its noisy traffic is far too close. Also military jets and helicopters fly over at low altitude. Nearby Clear Lake is much quieter and more scenic.

This is a really nice campground. Spacious, shaded sites. Easy access to Rimrock Lake. We stayed at site 11 which was easily twice the size of sites I have stayed at in other campgrounds. Overall a great experience and we would stay here again. Missing one star for the existing vault toilets, which were a little dingy. Hope to see them upgraded to more modern CXTs someday.

Good campsites with lots of room and friendly camp host. Close to lake with other lakes and streams nearby and hiking trails.

We made reservations online 5 months in advance. We'd never been to this Campground. We attempted to tour it, before it was open, by hiking in. The week we were to go, a negative review was posted about the camp host. I was worried. However, we found him to be considerate and reasonable. He was good about helping a very large group (23 people in 3 adjoiningsites) to stick to the QUIET times rule. He kept the bathrooms in order and stocked. He was polite when asking us to repark a vehicle due to concern that it might be clipped by circling vehicles coming in to camp. The campground was beautiful, as was the lake. The sites were very neat, with adequate space. We have found a 2nd favorite spot!

The park staff member, and the host were very pleasant. They have been directed to be rather dogmatic about the leash policy. 100% at all times, even when well behaved and trained dog is in the campers site is a bit excessive. I understand the safety issue, but especially insisting that a smaller breed dog, taking a nap next to it's owner is ridiculous. If a dog isn't bothering anyone within the camp site it should be considered OK.
