What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

We showed up and there was a huge group across the way. They had way too many vehicles. Like 6 cars. They were driving up and down the road at like 30.mph when the park speed limit is far under that. And they were driving the wrong way. La wis wis is one way as is most parks. Tried to explain that. Nope.
Went over at 10:30 hey can you please turn the music down. Back over at 1:00 am. Hey turn it down. And no fires!! Put it out. That was the second group I had to say something to. Twice.
5:00 am. Hey. Please turn your music down. Just turn it off. Rude
6:30 am. Music back on. Yippie. Mariachi music and Latino rap first thing in the morning. Not to mention the fact that they almost wrecked into some kids on bikes and other cars. The hosts did not come around after 8:00
People suck. Especially those kind of people.

The best campground in Washington. Large, shaded sites, tall Douglas firs, sparkling river!

This campground was a great location. We were able to go down to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier easily. The sites weren't huge but they weren't super small. Our large tent was able to fit easily and if campfires were allowed we could of had one and not compromised our tent. Bathrooms we rustic but that is to be expected. Loved the camp hosts, very friendly and helpful. There was kids riding bikes around and running and playing in the trees, which we always love to see. The one way roads make it very kid friendly. Packwood is just a couple miles down the road if you need ice or anything. I would stay here again.
