What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

This was my wife and daughter's first camping trip ever so we did a one night trial run to see how they liked it. They absolutely loved it! I liked how the campsites were spread far enough apart to give us some privacy and avoid looky loo neighbors. Camp host were very nice and kept a clean campground. We will be back to spend more time and explore the surroundings.

The weather was fantastic! Mild warm temperatures and no smoke.
It would have been nice to have a fire, but the ban is understandable with so many forest fires burning.
It was too bad the rope swing into the blue hole was removed, that was always a highlight for the grandkids.

We stayed in the A loop and while our site was great-right on the river and quiet. The bathroom situation was awful there was only 1 vault toilet for the whole loop(the other was out of commission) so the concessionaire company that’s out of Colorado had Porta potties in place 8 in all and every single 1 was full to the top and stunk to the high heavens. They only have them scheduled to be emptied on fridays & this campground is usually full on weekends so if you come in at the beginning of the week like we did you get the oh so wonderful pleasure of full stinking toilets… this is a health risk here with the strong ammonia and fecal matter smell that you are breathing in. Something needs to be done about this ASAP! It would make so much more sense to have the porta potties emptied on Friday and then again on Monday after the busy weekends.
