What Guests Are Saying
La Wis Wis Campground offers a beautiful setting with spacious, private sites, great access to hiking trails, and the nearby Ohanapecosh River, making it ideal for nature lovers. While some guests noted issues with maintenance, lack of potable water, and crowded conditions, many appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the overall charm of the campground. The location near Mt. Rainier and the peaceful atmosphere during weekdays were also frequently highlighted as positive aspects of the experience.

Jack and Jill were the best camp hosts we have ever had. They kept the lots pristine and were very pleasant. There was not a single dirty bathroom nor piece of trash anywhere near the sites. They were so clean you could tell someone raked them like a serenity garden. Made for an amazing trip.

Very remote and primitive. Nice old growth forest. Good location for nearby park entrance. Signage for camping spots could have been a little better.

We stayed in site H 11 with an RV - not a great spot for a trailer. You are just kind of parked on the side of the loop road. Very close access to the blue hole though - very cold water and extremely crowded on the weekends, but a nice place to swim.

Before you go you must know. there is ZERO cell service. NONE. and if you get a riverside spot. IF you get one.
be forewarned, people will be walking through your site all day long. its non stop.
if you go to the Hatchery loop to swim.. LOCK your doors. If you camp at the hatchery loop, do not leave your site unattended. this part of the camp is far away from the main part. and there is a lot of off highway traffic.
I really wish there was more accuracy by way of the mapping system on the site. not just for this camp for the whole recreation.gov site. the mapping sucks.
first of all when you look at the site list online some of the spots are marked way off the road, so you cannot tell if it is right up against the road, set back nothing.
Also it does not say, "oh well this is a riverside spot, or this site never gets rented because the wind always blows the toilet smell into this camp".
There is NO photos of individual sites, which is lame, because people want to see what they are going to rent. like "OH hey this site has a hard 4x4 boarder and you cant set up a giant tent, oh this one has room for only one car, or it has giant tree roots growing through it and room for ONE tent. not two".
just wanting to be helpful, not trying to be rude.
