The Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground offers a great location near beautiful hiking trails and the hot springs, making it an ideal base for outdoor adventures. Many reviewers praised the cleanliness of the facilities, friendly staff, and peaceful atmosphere, especially during less crowded seasons. Site 43 in loop B is a nice site but we were not aware that it is a walk in site. The was not much space for tents but we managed to squeeze two tents in. No tent pads and the ground where you could pitch a tent was very gravelly so bring a footprint for your tent and some sleeping pads. Finally, there was no food storage locker, only one larger shared locker that was essentially located on the another site which was really odd and uncomfortable so we didn't use it at all. Lovely site otherwise. Would recommend site 42 instead which is larger and better laid out and close to parking.

The campground is very pretty and the sites relatively private. It is near a trailhead to a waterfall which is spectacular, although I didn't hike to it this time (I was there 2 years ago). A warning on the door of the Hot Springs Resort nearby said a cougar had been spotted in the area and advised against hiking alone. The campground's proximity to the resort, where one can use the hot pools for $13 per 90-minute session (senior rate) is the big attraction, for me, but it would be a pleasant camping experience regardless. The site next to mine, however, I wouldn't have wanted since the vehicle space is immediately adjacent (parallel) to the campground roadway, and I was sleeping in my car rather than setting up a tent. There may have been other sites configured like that but I didn't notice any.

The location is outstanding. It is a 5 minute walk from the RV campground to the hot springs spa. Hike to Sol Duc Falls or drive the 3 miles to the parking lot at the end of the road and take a short walk the rest of the way. Also a reasonable driving distance for a day trip to Cape Flattery as all points on the north side of Olympic National Park. Plan to be off grid, including the main lodge, for any form of WiFi or Cell service.

All the bathrooms were closed. No water available. We were notified of these closures and malfunctions only a couple of days prior to our trip and therefore could not make alternative arrangements. Extremely poor management, in fact, total mismanagement. NPS should consider contracting with the State of Washington to manage the campgrounds, and fire the current staff.

It would be nice if the staff could clean the locker rooms once in a while.

Quiet little campground. Not much privacy from the other campers, but we only stayed one night and everybody pretty much stayed inside their RVs because of the rain so that was not an issue. Dont miss the hot pools at the resort just a few yards down the road!

Quite, at quiet time. Easy check in. Easy Set-up. I just wish that I had set it for 2 nights.

None of the proper washrooms were functional. All they have was honey buckets and even that is not well maintained. There was no water supply on taps as well. Rest all was as usual okay.

Absolutely beautiful campground! Mossy trees all around, lots of birds and other cute critters. Bathrooms were conveniently placed and clean, campsites were mostly decent sized but they were pretty rocky so padding or an air mattress are pretty essential if you’re in a tent. Pretty closely located to lots of good hiking trails!! And the hot springs were lovely to get in. All in all a wonderful experience.
