What Guests Are Saying

Lower Falls Campground offers spacious, shaded campsites that provide a sense of privacy and are well-maintained. Campers appreciate the close proximity to the stunning Lower Falls and numerous hiking trails, contributing to a peaceful and scenic experience. However, some improvements are needed, such as additional water stations and better restroom facilities, as well as addressing overcrowding during peak times.

Been here 3 times and love it everytime. If you like swiming its a good place. Just go in August or September. Anytime before that water if high but still wonderful views. Would give 5 star. Reason why 4 star is all 3 times never a host there for firewood. If you need it make sure to bring some. We found out the hard way 2 times. The nearest place to get it is about 30 mins drive about 14 miles and that the closest place.

I wanted to stay two nights but the website was difficult so I reserved one night and figured I could work with the camp host to stay another night. There were at least 6 sites empty the night of my reservation. Next day and the camp host says internet res only but I have no signal for 20 or 30 miles. Can't stay. You left money on the table and screwed overnighters all season because of recreation.gov. I had to leave but the campground wasn't full.

The campground host was basically non existent, I’ve gone to other campgrounds (La Wis Wis and Adams Fork) and the hosts are involved and super friendly. They don’t sell fire wood at the campground and the closest store is 30 min away (and they definitely don’t have enough wood for all the campsites at this campground if you’re staying for more than two days). NONE of the reserved signs say names or dates. All the sites are reserved because it’s a popular campground but one in three campsites actually had someone in it (which sucks for people who may have wanted to stay there). It was a good camping experience but I have been to less popular campgrounds and had more fun and more involvement from the campground hosts and that’s important for campgrounds if you want quiet times to be respected and the convince of firewood (especially if it’s 30 min to the closest small store and an hour to the closest “town”). No disrespect, all in all is was a good campground and a good trip but to me there were a lot of down sides compared to the awesome campgrounds that are closer to me. The waterfalls are beautiful, but I’d rather day trip it from a better campground.

This was a great campsite! Lots of space in the in the individual camp sites, good tables and fire pits, beautiful trees and scenery. Pretty quiet, too. Water was available, but it was a bit of a workout to get and definitely a two person job unless you're big and strong. Trash cans were also only in the lower loop, so we had to drive around looking for a bin to put our garbage at the end of the trip, but the bathrooms were clean and regularly spaced throughout the camping loops.

We were very surprised at the quality of the camp grounds! The fire pits were great, the vault toilets clean and stocked, the campsites were cozy and private in the upper loop and the access to the falls was super easy. Only draw back is the drive was a bit long for a weekend trip after work but really not terrible.
