What Guests Are Saying
Spearhead Point is a beautiful, quiet campground ideal for tent campers, offering spacious sites and access to kayaking and fishing. Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained facilities and the natural surroundings, making it a favorite spot for family outings. While some amenities like flush toilets and showers are lacking, and staffing issues have been noted, the overall experience is positive, with a strong sense of community among campers.

Loved this campground. The premium sites are definitely worth the small extra fee. Big sites and very clean. Friendly host.

We very much enjoy Spearhead Point. We have been here a few times. We come for the remoteness, access to the flowage, and the peace & quiet of the woods. It's always been clean and the Campground Host has been very friendly & helpful when we needed her.
The only reason I don't rate as Excellent 5 Stars, is due to the awful noise of generators. We have found this at all Forest campgrounds.
I cannot understand why the Forest Service that promotes the very peace & quiet OF coming to the forest allows the horrible sound of generators running all day. All forest staff should be required to spend just 1 day sitting on a site next-to a generator user to understand how obnoxious the sound is. I sit around my campsite to read or listen to the birds singing, the wind in the trees or visit with friends only for the day to be ruined by my neighbors generator use.
Almost all Generator Users spend their time INSIDE the camper, I assume taking advantage of their A/C, microwave and tv. Why are they even in the forest?
I realize there is electric being installed at some forest campgrounds.
Why aren't there Generator-Free campgrounds? And good ones, not just a couple places to pacify the non-generator users.
Some campgrounds are large; couldn't they be split so GOOD sites/loops are provided for people who come to enjoy the QUIET of the forest.
Put the people who spend the day INSIDE their campers off to themselves.
Some generator users LEAVE their campsite while the generator is running. Rude & against the rules. Some campgrounds have no one to complain to. And if there is a designated time (ie8-5) to run them, they again don't follow the rules. They seem oblivious to the noise or don't care.
We both tent camp and have a 16' RV. We have solar & gas. No noise to ruin other campers.
That is what the forest is for. . .the enjoyment of ALL for the peace & quiet & beauty the Forest has to offer.
Back to the State Parks I go. I really wish I could truly enjoy the forest more.

I like the docks. Ironically, I also enjoy the bad cell service.
