Awesome, well shaded and very private camp sites. Nice hiking trails. Definitely will come back.

Highland ridge is my favorite campground, it’s close to home but you enter another world when you drive under the canopy at the campground. We try to come atleast once a year and will typically take multiple sites with all the people that want to join, everyone wants to come back! It’s very laid back and everyone I’ve ever interacted with has been great. Do yourself a favor and book a site!

Very peaceful campground with lots of shade and birdsong! A few mosquitoes but a near constant breeze on the ridge kept them at bay. Campers should be aware that to access the fishing area and river one needs to head out of the area to drive a few miles to an access road. Perhaps there was a multi-use trail (horses and people) that could get you down to the fishing area, but we didn’t find it easily. The entire rec area has many options to enjoy — fishing, kayaking, canoeing, walking trails, equestrian trails, and picnicking spots. The surrounding area had interesting sights to explore, too, including caves, small towns, and miles of scenic drives.

The campground was nice and the bathroom was great. We were in a camping spot that was nice and secluded. Unfortunately it rained much of our trip

One of the best maintained campgrounds we’ve been to - the fall leaves were even nicely blown off of the campsite and some of the trails in this heavily wooded park! Will absolutely return.

The campsites were big, loved the hook to hang our light on, bathrooms were clean and showers free! Hiking in the fall was gorgeous! Will go again in the summer to check out the beach.

I love the campsites, facilities, and scenery at HIghland Ridge! So far this season, I've visited four times. Close to home and good value, too!
