What Guests Are Saying

Rex Hale campground is highly praised for its beautiful, well-maintained sites and friendly camp host, Tom, who is noted for his helpfulness and attentiveness. The campground offers a peaceful and picturesque outdoor experience, with convenient amenities such as water and electricity at some sites. While there are only vault toilets, they are clean and well-kept, and the location provides easy access to Yellowstone's east entrance.

Quick drive to the East entrance of Yellowstone. Nice, quiet campground- surrounded by red rocks. Clean bathrooms and plenty of space at the camp site. We’re looking forward to camping here again!

When we arrived at the campground the host informed me that the water was not useable. We traveled 10 hours empty expecting to be able to fill our tank up for the rest of our trip. That was really the only disappointment we had here. Beautiful campground and very quiet. The River running through is very peaceful. Would try here again if we came back but would call ahead to check water status.

Beautiful camp ground. We had an excellent time and they have an excellent camp host. The camp sits among these mountains and a river near by. It was just breath taking. To say the least we really enjoyed it. We plan to go again in another year.

We had a great time and very much enjoyed our stay on site 022. All sites were spaced well and afforded excellent views of the surrounding mountains. Ed the camp host was very friendly and helpful in orienting all guests in their stays.

A bonus for us was being able to watch a mountain goat/sheep walk on the cliffs above us one night as we relaxed.

I highly recommend this campground for visiting the greater Yellowstone and Cody region.

This is a very nice National Forest campground situated along the Shoshone River with sites spaced out nicely and more open than other campgrounds along the highway, well maintained and clean facilities.

Very nice Forest Service campground....level sites with great views and not too close together. Some sites have water and electricity which is hard to find outside the east entrance to Yellowstone. No cell service and a long drive over a 9000ft pass in/out of Yellowstone each day. Great value with a America The Beautiful Senior Pass
