What Guests Are Saying
Lizard Creek Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting on the shores of Jackson Lake, with spacious and well-maintained sites that provide a sense of privacy. Camp hosts are friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience with helpful tips and support. While the restrooms could use improvement, the campground is a great base for exploring both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, making it a favored destination for many campers.

Only there for one night but this campsite was great! A quick walk down to the water to enjoy the views and drink the morning coffee! Highly recommend this site which is a bit back from the others.

Nice, quiet, out of the way campground. A great place for kayaking on the lake and getting to parts of the park without too many crowds. The staff were very nice and seem to take good care of it.

Stayed at campsite 43 and had an excellent time. The location was away from other campers, yet close to the restroom and water. The site and facilities were well maintained. Tetons is definitely one of our favorite parks. We normally stay at Jenny Lake campground, but we were not able to book there this year. One tip we found out was the Headwaters campground just north of this one includes a free shower with your campsite reservation.

A nice, spacious clean camp site! Lizard Creek is located near the North entrance off Grand Tetons. Great views of Jackson lake!

We've camped at Lizard Creek for 34 years and have seen it through a lot of transitions. It became very clear that the concession was sold last year. One set of campground hosts was great--Charlie and Joan are friendly, helpful, and have a desire to preserve the campground as it has been for all to enjoy. The other hosts clearly had a different set of objectives, from stopping every driver who entered the campground holding their clipboards (no one has EVER stopped us in 34 years and it was frustrating to us as well as friends who stopped by to visit) to enforcing "rules" that either don't exist or have never been enforced. The changes don't stop at the campground. In all concessions run by this particular group, it is clear the only focus is the bottom line, not helping or supporting campers, not trying to provide a good experience or preserve the park. The food at Signal Mountain used to be fabulous, this year it was inedible, don't waste your money. Having said that, of course we'll be back to Lizard next year.

Our favorite campground of the year. Lovely well-maintained campground with great and helpful hosts. Sites 1, 2, and 3 are fantastic walk-in tent sites that have natural isolation and lovely settings. We were in site one and had a natural hill separating us from the other two walk-in sites, so it felt very private. We were next to the road, but the road noise was not an issue after about 9 p.m. Site one also accommodated our ginormous Eureka Copper Canyon 2-room 8-person tent, so glampers rejoice! Clean flush toilets in the restrooms and a convenient large bear box that easily fit our camp stove, cooler, and food box. A little trail from the amphitheater across from site 13 leads down to the lake and beautiful views (my husband saw a beaver there one morning). Overall a terrific experience. This was also one of few sites we have had in this area where part of the campground has pretty good cell service (again, down by the amphitheater).

Lizard Creek is a beautiful campground! Our site was next to Jackson Lake, and I loved being so close to the water. We also appreciated that generators are not allowed in the lower loop. I was nice to hear the water, rather than listen to generators humming.
