What Guests Are Saying
Tenderfoot Creek offers a beautiful camping experience with spacious, well-maintained sites and easy access to the lake, making it ideal for outdoor activities. Campers appreciate the friendly host, privacy between sites, and clean facilities, although some noted issues with trash and bathroom upkeep during certain visits. Overall, the scenic location and amenities, including nearby hiking and a pizza shop, contribute to a positive camping atmosphere, despite minor complaints about noise and site size.

Very nice campground with more than adequate space between sites. The lakeside sites are by far the best, in part because you can take your kayak or canoe right to the lake without having to use the boat launch. All sites have nice picnic table, large fire ring and room to spread out. The tent sites appeared equally nice. We didn't go boating, our intent was to just relax. Other campers were mindful of their neighbors and the campground was quiet. The camp hosts for 2020 were wonderful people and the one thing that rates high on my list is the condition of the restrooms. These were possibly the cleanest restrooms I have ever seen, including fine dining restaurants & high class casinos. This was our first trip to Tenderfoot but won't be our last.

There are a variety of campsites - some are drive through sites and some are not. Lakeside sites are at a premium. There is a lot of road noise from the Seward Highway, but it does diminish at night. Summit Lake Lodge is within walking distance for dinner or for coffee, and the Devil's Pass trail is a short drive away.

Great campground next to the lake. The facilities are clean. The sites are spaced very well apart and have a fire ring with grill top and table. Garbage cans are bear proof. Can hear some highway noise from across the lake. Very nice campground.

I love Tenderfoot. But this year was really bad but it was not because of the campground. It was mother nature. There were fires down on the Kenai which made it very smokey and you couldn't even see the mountains or the beautiful lake. And the flies were horrible and it was very hot. You could not even be outside because they would dive bomb you.

We stayed in Spot 26. PLEASE LET OTHERS KNOWS THIS IS NOT A LEVEL SPOT!!!! We spent the whole weekend nervous that our trailer would roll DOWN the hill into the brush. 😤😤😤

First, your site #1 is shown as a "walk in site". I actually had a disagreement with the host about what a "drive thru" and a "walk in" site is. As a X- Alaska state park ranger, I just said "Oh" Thank you. Please update your map posted on the internet, starting with a, up to date map and showing camp site #1 as a drive thru and show this site as a site that can be reserved. The important thing here is that an updated facility map is needed and a little better training of the "Campground Host" is achieved. Other than that, love the campground and always will make it a location to visit and use annually.
