The campsite is great and I appreciated the designation of a tents-only section (and I noticed an additional section for walk-in's and bicyclists -- that is great). But the reservation system needs fixing!! Very often the website states that there are no sites available, and yet, when I was there in late September, several sites were unoccupied. Maybe the people who made reservations decided not to come, but the effect is that people who want to camp are denied, even though there actually is space. There must be a way to fix this! Maybe request that people who make reservations be asked to state their latest arrival time, after which their reservation would be cancelled unless they have checked in by that time.

We stayed at this fantastic campground end of September 2023. It offered hot showers for a small fee and we could even wash our clothes. Nice environment and very silent. Great place to stay for a couple of days.

Site 08 provides privacy for tent campers. BUT! I camped for three nights at the end of August. There was no shade in the campsite. The campground host told me site 08 and another site in the walk in section of the campground were the only ones with no shade in the late summer. When I returned from hiking I couldn't touch my car because the metal was so hot. The nice ranger at the campground registration office allowed me to park in the office's parking lot during the day where there was lots of shade.

Clean and peaceful stay. No loud parties or noisy generator. Could not ask for a better experience. Enjoyed watching the camp host's dog Jackson, hanging out on his own cot and tent. Attend the ranger talk at 11:30 near the Lodge. Watch out for deer at night on the drive in from Jacob's Lake.

Excellent campground with wonderfully spacious sites. Each site has a great tent pad, picnic table and fire grill. Very clean flush toilets and great staff. Bonus being that the general store, which is well stocked, is within walking distance. Highly recommended!

Le terrain est tres bien sous un couvert forestier abondant. Ça prend un vehicule de moins de 22 pieds pour accéder aux differents points de vue. Pitou sera gâté, les sentiers où les chiens sont permis sont longs.

Good Experience at Hiker/Biker Campground. Good views of Grand Canyon. Located near general store with good selection of hiker provisions. Constructed tent pads are on the small side and I staked my 1P tent on a scarce flat patch of ground. Only one toilet. Showers and laundry require quarters and should be upgraded to accept credit cards. No shuttle service, so a trip to the lodge for real food requires a three mile round trip walk along a scenic rim view trail. Not very hiker friendly. Shuttle service would be an important and very desirable upgrade. Coin operated facilities are so last century and should be updated. Showers and laundry were not opened at the posted opening time indicating neglect. With some upgrades, this would be quite an experience.
