There’s nothing like waking up in your tent, and then just casually walk towards the rim and watch the sunrise.

Easy hike down to the Lodge for great amenities. Clean facilities. Super friendly and helpful staff. Good store for the stuff we either ran out of or forgot.

I am completing a 25 day whirlwind tour of the national parks out West in a 30 foot RV with my son and family. We have stayed in quite a few RV parks and campgrounds. Even without hookups, the campground at the North Rim was my favorite. I loved the size of our site, the wooded setting, and, above all, how peaceful and quiet it was. It was great being able to walk a short distance to the back of the campground and be on the rim of the canyon where I watched lovely sunrises and sunsets. There were several other trails out of the campground which took us to other views of the canyon. We never had to move the RV to experience so much beauty! In addition, the campground hosts and check-in ranger were extremely kind and helpful. Absolutely no complaints about our stay! Thanks!

All the sites were nice. The tall trees protected us from the sun and wind to some extent. The tent campground restrooms were out of order, so it meant a bit of a hike to the other camp ground but no big deal.
This site is very convenient for all activities and hikes and is only yards from the rim.

We stayed at the North Rim Campground at Site 18, less than a 4-minute walk from the Rim. Site is relatively flat. Be sure not to park off the asphalt or the camp host will have your head on a platter! The Transept Trail was right behind our campsite, and it's a wonderful walk to the Grand Canyon Lodge - about 1.5 miles one way. Once there, be sure to check out Bright Angel Point. Incredible views!!! Is a wide, paved trail and perfectly safe as long as you stay on the marked path. However, it is not a safe place to bring young children in my opinion. There are thousand foot drops on both sides of the trail with no guardrails except at a small bridge and at the point itself. Another wonderful excursion is the scenic drive -1.5 hours each way but worth it! Imperial Point and Cape Royal Point are spectacular. The North Rim has far fewer visitors so you won't have to fight to sit in viewing chairs or eat at the lodge. Wonderful!
Not to keep beating the same drum but this isn't an amusement park. The NPS does a wonderful job marking and grooming trails, but unless you're literally on a rock outcropping/point, there will be no rails. If you are scared of heights, the Grand Canyon may not be for you!

I wished there was a spot to do the dishes. I can't believe everybody is using disposables.
