My group was excited to stay here after last visiting several years ago. We recognize that the area had been devastated by a fire, and with recent floods in the area, but we were looking forward to a calm and relaxing holiday weekend.
Unfortunately, the site was not maintained at all, with the camp host nowhere to be found. Porta potties were filled to the brim and absolutely disgusting. People also still had fires, even though there's a clear fire ban with fire pits covered in yellow tape. I don't know how the camp host didn't see and investigate further.
I'll come back here again in the future, but I'll wait a few years. I hope the forest service somehow gets the funds to clean this place up and maintain it a little bit better, or employs someone as a new camp host that's more involved.

Campground has no water and filthy potra pottys as the only bathroom facilities so be prepared.

$45 for a tent site with no running water anywhere. And can't make a fire. But not many people.

An unoccupied trailer was in the site I had reserved on recreation.gov. :(
The campground host showed me some other sites which were available. Most sites were open, and the campground was very quiet.

The campground is generally nice, but when there is no water available, the facilities are closed, campfires are not allowed, and essentially no services are provided apart from the campsite itself, then $45 per night is really outrageous.
I understand the current situation due to the fire last year, but in that case, it would be fair and reasonable to reduce the price accordingly.

North Rim Campground is 210 mi (210 mi), approximately a 4.5 hour drive, from Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim.
This facility is located at the end of State Highway 67, about 41 mi (41 mi) south of Jacob Lake, AZ, 87 mi (87 mi) south of Kanab, UT, and 120 mi (119.9 mi) southwest of Page, AZ. Highway 67 is the only road into and out of the North Rim. There is no access by road directly across the canyon to the other canyon rim.
From State Highway 89A, take Highway 67 south for 30 mi (29.8 mi) to the Grand Canyon North Rim Entrance Station. The North Rim Campground is located about 11.5 mi (11.5 mi) further.
Highway access
North Rim Campground is accessible via State Highway 67, which is the only road into and out of the North Rim. The nearest major road is State Highway 89A, located approximately 30 miles to the north.
