Absolutely excellent campsites in a quiet grove. Superb host.

The North Rim is a little cooler than the South and there are not as many eating out opportunities on the North. The Lodge requires reservations so be prepared. Also, there is a chance for rain or snow everyday depending on the season. The North is not as visited as the South, so it is a lot more laid back. You'll love it.

I camped 5 nights on the South Rim then drove the 4 hours to the North Rim for 3 nights. Both were outstanding. The North Rim is completely different that the South. Lots of trees, higher elevation, less people and completely different views. I had dinner 2 nights at the lodge. Outstanding food, service and view. I had Bison short ribs one night and a cowboy ribeye the next. Carrot cake was also outstanding. After dinner grab a cocktail and hang out on the large stone porch for sunset. Soul cleansing. Highly recommend.

I’ve always found the North Rim to be a more rewarding experience than that of the South Rim. Although both offer quite similar scenery, perhaps it’s the feeling of being more isolated, more in touch with nature, the Ponderosa forests and the additional elevation offered at the North Rim that promote this assessment. Love, love hiking the North Kaibab, Uncle Jim, Ken Patrick and Widforss trails. Took a mule ride to Supai Tunnel this trip and would recommend the trip to others. The mules were patient and predictable and the cowboys added to the experience even more. And don’t pass on the drive to Cape Royal or Point Imperial for their spectacular views. The North Rim is truly a must see/must do destination.

Great place. Dinner was crowded but good. Server was excellent. Campground was very quiet. Animals did not bother us. Bees were tolerable.

Was a little disappointed in the campground. There was a water restriction do to a broken water main that the ranger told us so no camp fire and there was a very bad bee and wasp problem. I would not have kept my reservation if I new this before.

Overall the campground was very nice and had easy access to all of the trails, drives, and amenities. Only complaint is the sites had a lot of rocks that made it hard to get tent stakes in. Otherwise we had a fantastic trip.
