Beautiful country! We've been here twice now and both times were wonderful. The horse facilities are very nice and horses were comfortable. This is a horse-only campground and that makes it really special because as a rule horse people are extremely considerate of their fellow-campers. We've met some really nice people at this campground and plan to visit it often in the future.

Camp host, Greg, was exceptional! Very helpful, courteous and friendly. Campsite was great although excessive rain made the horse enclosure unusable with too much mud above horses' ankles (we used highline during our stay to avoid this). Site was beautiful, trails great. Plan to return several times in the future.

It would be great if there were flyers or maps for trails. They are not well marked and we got sent on a "7 mile" trail that ended up being more like 14 miles. no alternative routes to get back and a much harder trail than we wanted.

Groom Creek is one of my favorite places to camp and ride. Greg, the campground host was very helpful. I needed help getting my awning set up correctly, lifting heavy bags of manure into the trash bin (it had rained so bags wee heavier than normal) and one other time to close up a foldable ladder. He is very friendly and the perfect campground host.
Trails are in great shape and my favorite spot for a 24' horse trailer is 37C. It is also close to the horse corral which I like. I can run my water hose from the trailer right to the corral, so I don't have to carry buckets of water. Site is perfectly flat as well.

Wonderful facility for horse camping but be sure to bring a long hose and fillable water tank as some of the higher stalls are hard to get water to. The trail going up and back down Spruce Mtn is well maintained but rocky, so I wouldn’t recommend it for tender footed horses, but all of ours did just fine and it’s beautiful. Lots of mule deer and brave coyotes so keep your dogs close. We will be back!
