I sure do love Groom Creek Horse Camp! We got to ride every day of the six days I was there and we saw lots of mule deer, and coyotes. I really do like the fact that they make you have a horse or two before you can camp here and the horse people are certainly a lot nicer than most of the public in camping spots.
The bathrooms really need a lot of help this time as they are not up to par like they usually are win the Camp Hosts are there. I sure would like to see Joe and Nancy come back left next year as Camp Hosts as they are the best!

It sure would be nice if Groom Creek had more water locations, the horse stalls need to be refilled with dirt and sand, after it rains the stalls fill with water and do not drain properly. This is not good for the horses feet. The wildlife was amazing many deer, coyotes. I love camping at Groom Creek I think it needs a little more TLC .

Nice not having a camp host breathing down your neck.
Trails were nice.

Groom Creek no longer has a camp host. When we arrived with our horse trailer someone was already in the camp site so we were unable to stay. We’re very disappointed in the management of the Groom Creek horse camp.

I love going to this camp ground!!!! The host (Joe & Nancy) are amazing, they check on to make sure things are safe and that your comfortable during your stay, if you have any problems they are right there to lend a hand. My friends and family go at least 10-15 times when the camp is open. I was sad to hear they will no longer be there we have had several host and Joe and Nancy are by far the best ones the camp has had!
This camp is unique it is one of the few places I can bring my horses and is designed for them. When i make resevrations I know that I will not have to fear quads, i have a space for them to be tied/stalled when not riding, i don't have a fear that individulas who are unaware of the dangers of this sport will be in the camp ground, and my truck and trailer fit with ease in and out of the camp ground.

camp sites are clean and bathrooms are clean except for some cob webs. Fire pits are clean and horse corrals are good size and clean. They do have some tree roots and large rocks in some of the pens. The camp hosts Joe and Nancy are friendly and very helpful. I travel alone and it is nice to be checked o n.
