Whoever runs this is only interested in maximizing profit and should NOT be running a campground in a national forest.
Pulled in late during a road trip where of the 31 total camp sites only THREE were first come first serve. Mind you the entire camp ground had maybe 7 occupants. Of course the THREE first come first serve spots were already taken so I pull into 1 of the "reserve" ones come to this website to reserve where the price is higher than the listed walk up price and there's for some reason a "reservation fee" despite being literally parked in the spot. Just got refused a refund so now my bank will deal with these nickel and diming fools.
I was there less than 8 hours and will never be back.

I arrived at the White Spar Campground around 9:00 PM, but unfortunately, my reserved site, Spot 19, was already occupied. I double-checked my reservation to ensure it was confirmed for me. I'm not sure how this mix-up happened, but it was quite disappointing. I attempted to speak with the campground manager for assistance, but it seemed they were already asleep at that hour.

Visited on 12/21/24. Nice campground, nice area, trails out of the campground, close to town. The downside: The bathroom vault toilets were unbelievably disgusting and by far the worst I have EVER witnessed. I was shocked they could be that horrendous, which had to take multiple days and probably weeks of the host not cleaning them, and still go unnoticed by management/FS personnel. Feces smeared on the outside of toilet in one of them along with filthy toilets, urine spotted floors, toilet paper all over, very large bag of trash hanging from wall was full and overflowing onto the floor and the stench was overwhelming. Opened the door and immediately walked out. Went to the other bathroom close to the camp host and except for the feces, it was in the same exact shape. Could not use them and had to drive into town to use a restroom.

This campsite is always our favorite. I do not use the restrooms at the campsite and the smell in there is horrendous and I can't stop gagging. We use our own toilet in our RV. Other than that the experience was wonderful
