Absolutely beautiful campground. We had a site right next to the lake which made it easier to access. Husband and son fished on the boat and on the shore. Bathrooms and little trailer that sold snacks and forgotten items made it nice as well. Couple that managed the area were also very nice.. definitely recommend and we'll be going back again soon.

it’s a nice campground. The spaces are a bit close, being that it’s so quiet a bit of space would be nice for privacy. We would go back again. It rained part of the time but it was still a good experience and certainly not their fault it rained lol. The caretakers came back to let us know we could have a fire on the second night, as we asked them earlier in the day.

The camp hosts were not hospitable. Went out of his way to ensure we didn't feel home.

Great campsite location and friendly camp hosts! I spent 4 days solo camping during the week to get a break from the Phoenix heat and find some solitude in nature. I ventured out with my binos for some great wildlife and bird watching outside at the nearby JD reservoir and was not disappointed! The bullfrogs will sing you to sleep out there with their melodies! Make time to kayak and or SUP (they do have rentals if needed).
One piece of advice... do NOT choose site number 81!!!! There is ZERO reprieve from the sun, I mean ZERO!!!!!!

Got withing 5 miles of lake to find road closed due to approaching fire. Forestry man standing guard told us no one was allowed in area. Recreation.gov would not reimburse us for the 1st night!

Beautiful tent campsite on loop C. Quiet, tons of interesting wildlife. Camp host was very friendly. We didnt catch fish off the shore, but saw 2 guys in a boat catching one after another while we were out kayaking in mid-afternoon. Will def be back.
