We enjoyed our stay here with a wonderful view of the Arkansas River. There were some beautiful sunrises out our window. The couple who manage the park could not be nicer and eager to help. We were here for Halloween but rain ruined most of the planned events. The park is left open at night and unfortunately we had a truck with loud exhaust come through about 1:30 am. cruising the grounds. The only negative would be the noise generated by traffic on the bridge that crosses the Arkansas River right over the park. Even with these distractions I would definitely stay here again and Conway is a great place to explore.

Gate attendant/host was the nicest and most knowledgeable! Coy Stewart is friendly, helpful, and super active in the park. Multiple trips a day around the park and super helpful.
My only complaint is the lack of first come first serve sites and the “weekenders” that make staying for more than 4 days almost impossible unless you stay in section A or D.
I have a 44’ 50 amp camper that I prefer to stay at least 7 days when I camp. B and C have 3-4 day openings only, and A section sites are too small for my camper. I have to use a 30 amp site to power my 50 amp camper plus the sites in D are small as well. I would like the “premium” sites (B and C) to be limited to 7 day stays only, that way those of us that have bigger units, and plan to stay at least a week, have access to them and the weekenders can use the smaller sites. Or go back to B and C being first come first serve, the reservation system almost instantly books weekends as soon as the season opens.

We were in site B07 - it was a waterfront site with a shared entrance with the next site, so backing in was a little difficult (but I'm not great at backing in). The utilities were good, the bathrooms were clean, the sites were well kept. Staff were friendly and excited about the Halloween trick or treating and the site decoration contest. We enjoyed watching the barges enter the lock across the river and will definitely return.

We came for the weekend to have a birthday party and it was a success. We came from White Hall and we have family come from Alma. The restrooms were clean and the grounds were well manicured of course there was leaves on the ground because it is October. We had no negative reports. The grandchildren rode their bikes and got to go fish.

From Conway, Arkansas, travel west for 7 miles on SR-60 and follow signs into the campground.
From Initerstate 40 take exit 129B and head South on Dave Ward Drive/Hwy 286. Continue for 7.5 miles until you reach a stop sign. Turn left and continue over the bridge. Immediately after the bridge (and right beore the Toad Suck One Stop) take a hard right and follow the gravel road to the right to get to the main gate. You will drive under the bridge and the gate is on the left.
The campground is accessible from Interstate 40 via exit 129B, and is located approximately 7 miles from State Route 60.

General
- ALL Campsites require a reservation prior to being occupied. There are no first come, first serve or walk-up sites available.
- NOTICE: Camping at one or more campsites at any one water resource project for a period longer than 14 days during any 30-consecutive-day period is prohibited without the written permission of the District Commander. CFR 327.7 (b)
- NOTE: A special event application is required for any event including, but not limited to one or more of the following: 1. An entry, spectator, or participating fee is charged 2. If you have an anticipated attendance of 100 or more persons 3. An extraordinary impact on project resources is expected 4. Corps personnel provide additional patrols, surveillance, refuse collection, and/or crowd control 5. Event involves the use of concession tents and/or vendors 6. Event involves Bounce Houses/Bump N Jump Inflatables 7. Fishing Tournament 8. Music Festival: In addition to the special event application, you may be asked to submit the following information before approval can be granted: (1) proof of liability insurance; (2) event details & description; (3) schedule of events; (4) parking plans.PROHIBITED: Please note that livestock, exotic animals, explosives, loaded projectile firing devices, pinatas, water balloons, and commercial activities are prohibited on project lands unless written permission has been received from the District Commander. If commercial tents are permitted for your special event, please note that driving tent stakes into concrete or asphalt on project lands is prohibited. PROHIBITED: Please note that livestock, exotic animals, explosives, loaded projectile firing devices, pinatas, water balloons, and commercial activities are prohibited on project lands unless written permission has been received from the District Commander. If commercial tents are permitted for your special event, please note that driving tent stakes into concrete or asphalt on project lands is prohibited.
