What Guests Are Saying
Toad Suck Campground offers a beautiful setting right on the Arkansas River, with clean facilities and friendly staff, making it a pleasant place for camping. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, good fishing opportunities, and the chance to watch boats navigate through the locks. However, concerns were raised about highway noise, traffic from non-campers, and limited bathroom facilities during peak times, which could affect the overall experience.

Excellent campground. The sites are fairly level and well spaced apart. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely stay again if I am passing through the area.

The park was closed four days into our reservation. Lack of communication by the USCOE. The USCOE should stop relying on volunteers when there is an emergency situation because the USCOE need to be responsible for the parks. While the volunteers do a fine job, too much emphasis is placed on their responsibilities and not enough on the Rangers. We are still waiting for an accident report from 2 years ago. We did not receive the correct refund from this cancelled reservation and everyone was terribly upset. Furthermore when I called Recreation.gov, the representatives hung up the phone after waiting an interminable amount of time. Very disappointed!

A great 1 night stopover while traveling. This is a Corps of Engineers (US Gov) campground right on the Arkansas River by their lock on the river. The staffer was really friendly and helpful. The restroom/showers were the cleanest I've ever seen. It's an older facility, but still great at a very reasonable price.

Everything was great until they evacuated us due to the rising river. The ranger said we would get a refund for our stay but we have yet to see it...we’re still waiting.

Park closed the day I was to arrive and I was not notified of the closure and I had to scramble to alternative accommodations!

Toadsuck is a nice park that we stay in 10-15 nights a year. It is close to Conway so any item forgotten at home can be picked up easily at a reasonable price. The park is well maintained and has 3 separate playgrounds for the younger children. If you have small ones that you don't want near the river camp in D section. D is off the main path and is good for letting kids ride their bikes and play in open field. Great park!!!!!!

We had chosen a site online in A loop - A14 - looked level from the pic & said it would fit our 41' class a motorhome. Upon arrival & seeing our selected site, there was no way we could get level in the site. Would've needed to raise the front end around 2 feet! The delightful woman in the office offered me 3 sites to look at (it was a weekend, so very busy!) and one of them worked just great. She was very helpful. I would give an excellent rating but the online pic of the site was very deceiving. The gentleman (her husband?) couldn't understand why we couldn't put it on blocks and have our wheels dangling. Wheels should never be off the ground. The jacks are for stabilizing, not for total weight bearing.
It is a delightful campground & we noted sites that would better suit us. We will stop again on our yearly travels from PA to AZ and back.
