We had a great time at Beaver Lake. The water is clear, so if you have snorkeling gear, bring it. We stayed at site #29, great view, but very tight. You share a driveway with your neighbor at #28, so there is not a lot of extra room. Fortunately, we have a smaller teardrop camper, so it worked out ok.
Be prepared for some wind if you are staying there, always had a breeze!

Be aware Site 08 is reached by backing down a mild curve and moderate incline with poor rear view mirror visibility and a couple of adjacent trees. A short walk around 20 vertical feet down the bluff gets you to the gravel/rocky beach. Staff (Thanks especially to Chuck and Tammy) was helpful and nice, both ranger/maintenance and volunteers. Gate hours are limited 1400-1900, but staff is on call. Site 5,6,7,and 08 are described as “standard electric” do not have water outlets, but water hydrant for your tank is only about 200’ back. These peninsula sites are served by dry toilets, no running water, but all sites on the island over the causeway have water. Most of the other sites also have covered tables, vs open table and fire ring at these sites.
Our site had a shorted power outlet which was fixed the same morning we reported it. A series of storms was in progress and the entire island was briefly off power, restored with temporary cable and a new buried cable. Three trees were knocked down. All this was rapidly addressed after wind of 40-50mph. Tent campers however will likely not enjoy the atmosphere of the 2 or 3 dry outhouses, but self contained unit campers will be ok. This site is very well managed. Full showers, bath and running water are in the modern bath facility at the top of the island. Lots of activities and dining nearby in/around Eureka Springs!

Lake was beautiful and we had a good time. Was disappointed that most camp sites don't have water, so be prepared. I unfortunately didn't notice my site didn't have water until I had already gotten my camper completely set up. :D Site 003 is nice with a pretty view, but is a bit of a pain to get into. If anybody is in sites 001 or 002, you basically pull straight up into their sites to back into 003, so it's a little awkward. Site was nice and level and the electric panel was good to go, no surges or anything. The kids were disappointed with the "playground", which consisted of a simple swing set, that's it. Bathrooms were surprisingly clean.
I think I'll stay on the river side camp ground next time though. A lot more shade, and I believe all of those sites had water.

I think you need to have the gate keepers mow. The grass was way too high for kids to play. We pay a lot of money to camp and it needs some care. Limbs needs to be cut back so campers won’t hit them. Dead trees needs to be taken down

We stayed at campsite 5. I feel like the site was an after thought or should be day use only. There is no flat ground. The parking is tight. A walking trail runs through the campsite. The host is amazing. We will be back but we will not be staying at campsite 5. I highly suggest anyone considering this camp spot to reconsider.

This is our favorite quick getaway destination! It's beautiful and quiet - even when it's busy - and the campsites are spacious. We love that it's so close to Eureka Springs that you can drive over for a day of shopping, site seeing or a nice dinner. There are quite a few good restaurants within 15-25 minutes. The Bus Stop in Garfield is also a fun little trip for ice cream.
Along with biking around the campsite, kayaking, paddle-boarding and sailing in the "big water" near the dam with the kids, my husband also loves going fishing just below the dam which is just minutes away. The rest area is always very clean and the park rangers keep an eye on the place too.
We have tent camped and brought the camper - it's well laid-out for whatever kind of camping your family enjoys most. We highly recommend!

Stayed at site 36. Great experience with a nice pull through site on the water. Grounds were well kept and main bathroom was clean. Well worth the trip.

We were lucky enough to snag site #12 it is equipped with full utilities, it has a great view of the lake, 50yds from the waters edge and shade. The campground is paved, quiet, clean and the hosts are very friendly. We will stay again; anyone who stays will not be disappointed.
