Beautiful and well maintained. We stayed at Loop A site 11. No electric but water was close by. Great view of the water with easy access. Site is sloped but not badly. We were under a burn ban which was disappointing. We stayed three beautiful nights. Hickory Nut Mtn Vista is a must see. Plenty of hiking trails and walks to enjoy.

My mother and her family grew up going to Tompkins Bend every summer and when we were growing up, we got to experience it as well. We had some WONDERFUL memories here and unfortunately when my grandparents passed away life got busy, and we stopped going. This was then added to our bucket list as our parents and aunt are getting up there in age now in their 70's and last year was the first time we've been back since the early 90's. There were some changes, but everything still felt the same, my boyfriend came with us and as we were driving those final few miles to Shangri La I started getting a little emotional those childhood feeling all coming back to me. The stay was beautiful, hotter than we wanted but had a crazy storm that blew in mid-week and it cooled it off nicely for the rest of the week. You can't beat that scenery, there's nothing like it!! One bummer is there was a water fountain we used when we were kids to brush our teeth, and it always made us laugh because after you pushed the button for the water to come on and the water went down the drain it would make this sad moaning/burping sound! haha! It's still there just not in use. Thank you for keeping this magical place so beautiful! We will be back this June, just going to come earlier! haha!!

Our site specifically was on a tilt which made the tent a little wonky but the campground in general was nice. Bathrooms are top notch and heated. We will be absolutely be back albeit a different tent site.

Beautiful setting for enjoying the water. Clean facilities. It was a quiet campground. The cafe and marina close by was a bonus
