Tompkins Bend is the best place I have camped, it is clean & the park rangers are so very helpful. I have decided to make it my winter home.

The water hookup is in the ground. You have to get on your hands and knees to hook up your hose. Other than that it is a good place to camp.

Gorgeous views, wonderful campsite! Woke up to the lake view and the sound of fall leaves rustling.

This was an awesome stay. The only real complaint that I have is that the showers are shared b/w Loops B & C, which is a bit of a walk. Loops A&D have their own showers, but they are not near the boat ramp.
Fully shaded, which would be most welcome during warm months. In any case, the facilities are well-kept and I enjoyed my stay. Can't wait to go back.

Pretty campground with mostly level spots. Quiet, except for the gunshots during hunting season. No employees at gate for six months of the year (October-April). Sites do NOT have water hookups even though they say they do. There is one shared faucet in the loop.

We loved the campground. Our site had a beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed traveling into Hot Springs. We also hiked at Lake Cathrine and Ouachita State Park.

My only concern is people who do not keep their dogs on leashes. This needs to be enforced and the area patrolled more frequently for this. I encountered several dogs when I tried to walk the campground. Beautiful camp ground and nice facilities.
