What Guests Are Saying
River Road offers a peaceful camping experience with friendly and attentive hosts, clean facilities, and beautiful scenery by the river and dam. While the site has limited space for large tents and some minor issues like sawdust from tree removal and limited shower availability, overall, guests appreciated the well-maintained grounds and enjoyed their time in nature. The lack of cell service may be a drawback for some, but many found it refreshing and conducive to relaxation.

Can very much see how the decrease in funding is affecting our cherished public parks and places. Facilities here were far less desirable than past visits. And, we were told to vacate a day early due to govt shutdown. Very disappointing as it was a perfect week weatherwise and we were enjoying that fully.

The office crew were very friendly upon our arrival and even drove us to show us our site to give us an idea of which way we wanted to go on bringing our trailer to the site. The park seemed cleaned and well maintained, as well as having paved pads which is a bonus. They had cut down some trees prior to our arrival, and that's the primary reason for me taking a star off of the review is there was sawdust everywhere and it continually made a mess during our stay. The other thing to note about this specific site is that the pad is very short, and it is steep on all sides except the small landscaped area with the picnic table. This made set up and tear down a larger pain than usual, but is something that can be worked around.
Another thing to note and may be a positive for some and a negative for others is that cell phone service is non-existent in this area. Other than right by the dam, you will likely have to drive miles to get actual cell service. That's with both AT&T and Mint Mobile (T-Mobile).

We had a great time camping at River Road! Our multi-family campsite was spacious and provided plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. The campground was peaceful, and the host was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. The only minor downside was that only one shower was working in each of the restrooms, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We’d definitely come back and recommend it to others looking for a relaxing group getaway in nature.

No water or electricity at site. We had to leave after an overnight stay.
