What Guests Are Saying
River Road offers a peaceful camping experience with friendly and attentive hosts, clean facilities, and beautiful scenery by the river and dam. While the site has limited space for large tents and some minor issues like sawdust from tree removal and limited shower availability, overall, guests appreciated the well-maintained grounds and enjoyed their time in nature. The lack of cell service may be a drawback for some, but many found it refreshing and conducive to relaxation.

We love Project Point loop that is part of the River Road Campground at Lake Nimrod. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the sunsets. The campground hosts are friendly and helpful in every way.

Nice quiet campsite. We were located at spot number 9 right by the river. Nice views of the dam. Showers available. Lots of trees. The site seems to need some cleaning up and updating. May be because of the pandemic but we really enjoyed the place. I would definitely stay again. The park hosts were very kind.

Beautiful place with amazing hosts just make sure you have enough water hose. We stayed for 4 days and enjoyed every minute. Close to the state park and amazing views.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. My site was closed due to a broken bench, so they held another site for me after I told her what I was looking for. The next site was amazing, and even better than the original site I had picked.
*Down side, no service so I couldn't even listen to music. And there was a burn ban, so no fires. Boooo, but that wasn't their fault.

Love it here!! Simple but relaxing. People are all nice and maintained well. Great 1-2 day get away and hope for a large cat fish when the water is running.

We found this park by accident while on a motorcycle ride and booked a campsite with the hosts since they were so kind and informative. The site we initially booked was too difficult to maneuver our big rig in and we ended up using the 2nd option which was larger and more level for our 40 foot motorhome. Mike and Bonnie were very kind about the switch and helpful in getting it all straightened out. The hook-ups can be quite a distance, so extensions are recommended. Luckily we had additional hoses we could use for the water and the other campers near our site were kind enough to move their car behind their rig to allow our electric to reach. The sunsets from the dam were stunning. Nick, our park ranger, was also very informative and kind. The bathrooms provided hot showers and were clean enough. The campground was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. We had a dead battery and Mike was quick to offer us a jump. He also provided a lot of good recommendations for things for us to do in the area. Bonnie provided us with good information regarding the season passes and saved us a lot of money on our future stays with the Army Corps of Engineers. Highly recommend this quiet campground and these lovely hosts!
