What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with clean facilities and a lovely location by Beaver Lake, perfect for outdoor activities like boating and hiking. Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites, helpful staff, and the amenities available, including a marina and restaurant. However, some campers noted issues with poorly marked trails, uneven sites, and maintenance concerns, particularly with exposed hazards and cleanliness. Overall, it remains a favored destination for many.

Our site (17) was a mess of rocks when we got there. It is possible we were the first campers there this season. I also understand they are needed camp hosts. Site 18 was extremely close to ours, and it would have been difficult for someone to park there due to a un-level spot. kind of a lip that they would have had to back over.
Over all, it was pretty quite....there were some dogs barking, NOT in the park.

Prairie Creek is a Corps of Engineers facility. The Corps needs better funding to maintain and manage the campground. There is no full-time park staff nor volunteer host at the campground, so we weren't able to get our vehicle tag for a few days, some dog owners felt free to disobey the leash rule, and the only available showers never had hot water. The more serious issue is that many if not most of the RV sites need to leveled and repaved.

This is all on a fairly steep hill that slopes down to the lake so be prepared for that. We had to change sites as the one we choose online (66) was not where it appears on the map and we could not fit into it. Depending on how sites are laid out, leveling may be a problem. Personally, I hate it when tires (Class A) are off the ground. Too steep to bike. Did not use but the bathhouses looked nice. Due to the weather, we were not able to complete our stay. Everything clean and neat. Probably great in better weather.

The campground was clean and quiet and all services worked, water & electrical. But there was no hot water in the men's restroom. The other downside is the RV dump station with just one flush station site and not very convenient as water source for flushing black tank a distance requiring extra hose. Some sites pretty tight for trailers even though website approves reservations for specific trailer length.

We have camped in prairie creek several times, so we can visit Crystal Bridges!
Also, to go to the Flying Fish for lunch.
It’s also an easy drive to Springdale to the History of the Ozarks museum, which has a really good exhibit this year on the Buffalo River
